You have to develop good reading skills and good reading habit to learn the Chinese language quickly. Advanced learners of Chinese language may have to develop good writing skills also. You have to collect good course material and accumulate experiences from excellent resources to reproduce your own work. There are many websites available in the internet that provides quality information for learning Chinese language. These resources are adequate for learning the basic aspects of Chinese language. But to develop advanced skills in Chinese language you will require help from native Chinese trainers. You may have to spend sometime in China for advanced learning.

  • Create clusters of characters that share the same radical. This will help you to learn Chinese characters quickly.

  • You can also create group of characters that share the same phonetic component. This will help you to pronounce Chinese characters easily and correctly.

  • Create a top to bottom hierarchical chart by breaking a single character into smaller and meaningful parts.

  • Develop a mnemonic representation method to remember parts of a character. A picture or story can be developed to connect the components.

  • Reviewing the Chinese characters and words briefly after the class will help you to learn fast. Students have greater retention immediately after the class.
  • The basic communication in Chinese language requires the development of speaking ability. A learner from a foreign country cannot improve your speaking skill without developing the reading skill. You may not be able to understand all the words you are reading. Increase your pace in reading gradually and skim for the main ideas. Usually a paragraph contains an important idea on the topic; try to pick it up while reading. It is better to read out loudly. This will help you to understand what you read better. Making reading as a habit is difficult but you can use your spare time to read and learn new words.
